Ode to Our Lady of Manaoag

For my birthday, I decided to go to Manaoag, Pangasinan to visit the Our Lady. I have been wanting to go here to ask for help for my sister's coming CPA board exam and to give thanks.

2330H 16 March: Off to Manaoag. In fairness, on-time si Manong. We took the Dagupan Bus at New York Cubao. Fare was Php 281 per person.

0330H 17 March: Arrived in front of the church. The church was still closed.

Church's interiors has a nice "old feel"

After the mass, we strolled at the church ground. I noticed updated and modern ang lahat ng structures, except for the church's interiors. First we went to the Candle gallery. It was nice. They kept the whole church grounds very clean. We were so intrigued that people were going to the second floor, only to find out that we were about to get up close with the Our Lady. It was very solemn. You can see people crying as they were saying their prayers.

We then ate at Chowking just across the street. Went back to the church para magpaalam. Anyway, ganun yata talaga :)

At 10 am nag-decide kaming magpatalo sa antok. We took the Dagupan Bus na nasa tabi lang ng Manaoag Town Hall in front of the church.

All in all it was a very nice morning of my birthday. The best gift ever: peace of mind - you'll gain it when you talk to HIM through HER.

God Bless JAPAN

March 11, 2011. While I was on my 6 am duty at nagtatampo bilang wala akong reliever as skin test pharmacist, Japan was hit by an 8.9 magnitude earthquake, followed shortly by a 10-meter high tsunami. It was like watching the movie 2012. It was devastating. Frightening.

I can't believe that something like this could happen. That a large part of a country could be gone in less than an hour. Pwede pala mangyari yun.... It absolutely tells us who's in charge... Who's more powerful.

And from now on, I will specifically pray for Japan. That God may bless the country. That God will help it's people to have faith and believe that they'll get through this. That God may help them find their missing loved ones. That God will make other countries His instrument in helping Japan. Ang sabi sa news, all this will  soon be forgotten. That it won't be interesting anymore.

Now Japan is facing radiation catastrophe threat because of the explosion at the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

I just pray that God will bless the Japanese people with strength.

God bless Japan.
